Application to visco-plasticity
The principle is the same as for standard rate independent elasto-plasticity but this time, it is considered that the parameters to be identified are dependent on strain rate. The advantage is that since the stress and strain fields are heterogeneous, so is the strain rate field. Therefore, a single test can be used to identified the strain rate sensitivity over a certain range of strain rates and not only one. Details can be found in the references below.
